Getting a divorce? Getting posted or deployed or sent off to training? And your heart is starting to pound because you’re worried about the financial ripple effect?
I can do up a settlement agreement (believe or not, this is a treat for a divorce lawyer) and file a “desk divorce” to make divorce relatively simple and painless and least expensive. But, if I have to, I can go into Court for you too.
Yeah, I get that lawyers are expensive. But you do have control over how expensive. As a lawyer, I can tell you it‘s better to be realistic about what is achievable rather than fighting for what is, at best, uncertain. Because the reality of going to court is that it is a gamble — there is no telling the outcome of that battle.
Are you DAG Green? Are you sure? Because if you’re relying on the military paperwork (you know, that one page Will and Power of Attorney) to take care of important people if things are dangerous in the field—you are not leaving the home front in good order. As one WO told his guys, “If you are 18, live in the shacks and own a Playstation—the military piece works. Otherwise, get a set of civvie paperwork.”
An important thing to know is that retaining me means I can do all the work for you – no matter where you are in the world, if necessary. And I have represented members of the CAF in other provinces because, let’s face it, military personnel move around but that doesn’t mean you have to give up your kids or control over your bank accounts.
